Our Story · Established April 2025

A café with a story

Twelve years ago, Achara "Fawn" Weydt opened her first restaurant — a small Thai kitchen in West Boylston called Brown Rice. Today she owns or co-owns seven local restaurants across Worcester and the surrounding area. Grill & Green Kitchen, on Highland Street, is the newest — and the most personal.

The interior was inspired by a Paris café she fell for years ago. Pastel walls, floral details, a soft kind of light. "It's a little of Paris in Worcester," she says. The food is what she calls MediterrAsian — plant-forward, vegan-friendly, grass-fed and hormone-free where it counts, with dishes built around an Eat the Rainbow philosophy.

Breakfast is her favorite meal here — a croissant, a coffee, maybe a fresh orange juice. Typical Parisian. The kind of morning we hope you'll come find for yourself.

"I hope we can be a part of bringing healthy eating to our Quartier Latin part of Worcester."

A few things about this kitchen

What this kitchen
is built around

Hand-picked coffee harvest on small farms in Northern Thailand
Thai Specialty Coffee

A coffee cup
with a passport

The beans come from two small farms in Northern Thailand — hand-picked by Mr. Manas, a retired schoolteacher who grows coffee between rose apple and banana trees in Chiang Rai, and from young farmers working the high-altitude plots further north. They're roasted in Boston by Pack Katisomsakul — two-time U.S. Brewers Cup finalist. The Bangkok Iced Coffee has a lineage. So does everything else on the drinks menu.

All-Day Breakfast

Breakfast,
all day

Shakshuka with feta. Frittata with ham and cheese or just vegetables. French toast built on brioche. A waffle with house-made vanilla cream. Quiche. Yogurt with granola and fresh fruit. All of it served from the moment we open to the moment we close — not just mornings. Come at noon. Come at five. The breakfast menu doesn't clock out.

Buddha Bowl — a visual expression of the Eat the Rainbow philosophy
The Food Philosophy

Mediterranean meets Asian
— on purpose

The menu draws from two traditions — Mediterranean (hummus, feta, kalamata, za'atar, EVOO) and Asian (miso, edamame, sesame, ginger, rice) — and it does so without apology. The philosophy behind it is Eat the Rainbow: build a plate around color and variety, and the nutrition follows. Plant-forward. Grass-fed and hormone-free when protein is involved. The bowls are the clearest expression of it, but the thinking runs through the whole menu.

Organic Fire Starter cold-pressed juice — beetroot, apple, orange, ginger
Cold-Pressed Juices & Smoothies

Real ingredients,
nothing extra

The cold-pressed juices are built on whole ingredients — no concentrates, no additives. Kale, beet, ginger, apple, celery, orange depending on which one you order. Over a pound of produce in every bottle. The smoothies run on almond milk and real fruit, with options that add ashwagandha, probiotics, or organic cacao nibs if that's what your day calls for.

The wellness shots are worth knowing about. Three options — Enforcer (apple cider vinegar, ginger), Reviver (turmeric, cinnamon, ginger), and Inspire (maca powder, celery) — each under $5, each designed around a specific function: immune support, inflammation, energy. Add one to anything on the menu. Most people who try one order it again.

The Full Menu

Bowls, toast, salads, soup,
sandwiches, flatbreads, açaí

The menu is longer than most people expect from a café. From a Tomato Bisque and Vegan Lentil Soup to a Bang Bang Chicken Bowl and a Mediterranean Salad Dip with half a flatbread — it covers a lot of ground without losing focus. Whatever brought you here, there's probably more worth exploring.
